Hoosier Momma

Any bloody mary fans out there? I like a bloody mary every now and then, when the perfect mood strikes. It struck yesterday morning. I've been hearing people talk--seriously--about how good Hoosier Momma Bloody Mary Maker is. It's supposedly the perfect blend of ingredients and just the right consistency, and its vegan and gluten-free. And the ingredients are naturally sourced. I bought some at Marsh over the weekend for $7, and it even looks higher-quality than the other mixes. Its in a jar, so it looks kind of homemade and...quaint:)

We threw in some ice and vodka and the verdict is yeah, this is GREAT bloody mary! Its not overwhelmingly salty or spicy, but has the right amount of kick and rich tomato flavor.

I scrambled some eggs in plenty of butter and added some homemade/homegrown pesto, some bacon, and a slice of farm bread with orange marmalade. And suddenly, we were having a very fancy and luxurious Sunday morning:)

Lots of bars and restaurants around town use this mix in their bloody marys, and there are tons of retailers that sell it across the state (actually, in 5 states). You can cook with it too, which may be my next use for it. Check it out if you like bloody marys!
