To celebrate the fact that Fall is OFFICIALLY underway, we have a little family tradition where we go to Lilly Orchard over at Park Tudor. They open this tiny building on the school grounds during apple season and sell all kinds of super Fall-y things like jams and spreads, apple butter, pumpkins, fresh cider and (surprise!) apples....boxes of freshly-picked apples and my FAVORITE, caramel apples. Honeycrisp apples are swirled around in golden caramel ($3) and the really good ones get rolled around in chopped nuts ($3.50). Get those. They're the best.

Their cider is soooo good. I just got a cup of hot cider tonight, but we normally buy a big jug to take home. They also had something I hadn't noticed in past years (maybe its new): caramel apple slushies and apple cider slushies. I wasn't in the mood for a cold thing so I didn't try it, but heads up, its there! And I bet its good!
It was hopping tonight. There was a line at the cider bar and I don't blame anybody a bit for wanting to cram themselves in there. It's the epitome of fall. (OK, except maybe football and chili) I wish we'd lingered a little longer, but my daughter slid out the front of her stroller like a rag doll and Ted almost ran over her with it...so we left in a flurry of apples and tears! But I did arrange our delicious snack next to a festive pumpkin for a quick photo!

They're open through December, 7 days a week from 10am-6pm. Go get your Fall on!
